Faith in Action Idea: Prayer Holy God, give us confidence to live as a follower of Jesus that others may see in us our faith in you, our Creator, Redeemer, and Sustainer. Amen. Faith in Action Idea: Rituals & Traditions Epiphany is a time for public expressions of the Christian faith. This includes caring for those who are treated poorly, even bullied. Think of people who are picked on or criticized by others. It is an act of the Christian faith to speak up against those bullying others. Light a candle and say a prayer for your own courage to speak for those who are demeaned or otherwise persecuted. Third Sunday After Epiphany

Faith in Action Idea: Service Jesus calls us to serve our neighbor in love. Based on the Daily Bible Readings and theme this week, how can you share God’s abundant goodness by using your gifts and talents to care for others? Faith in Action Idea: Rituals & Traditions The wedding at Cana reminds us of how the Bible uses weddings and feasts to express the joy that God intends for us. To experience this joy during the Epiphany season, plan a special meal this week and invite others. Begin by reciting Psalm 36:7-8: How precious is your steadfast love, O God! All people may take refuge in the shadow of your wings. They feast on the abundance of your house, and you give them drink from the river of your delights. During the meal talk about what these verses mean to you. End by reciting the verses again. First Sunday After Epiphany
Scripture: Luke 3:15-17, 21-22 Faith in Action Idea: Caring Conversations: Talk or write about what you heard in the Bible text/story.
Faith in Action Idea: Rituals & Traditions Jesus’ baptism sets the stage for the beginning of his ministry, just as our baptism establishes our life as a follower of Jesus. When Jesus was baptized, he was also praying. Use prayer as a way to recall and live your baptism. Dip your fingers into a bowl of water, make the sign of the cross on your or another’s forehead or hand, and say: [I am/You are] baptized and God’s beloved child. Then close by praying the Lord’s Prayer and any other prayers you may wish to add. First Sunday of Christmas
