What to Expect
What are your worship times?
We worship with communion every Sunday at 9:00AM. Following worship, we enjoy coffee, treats and fellowship. October-May Wednesday night worship takes place 6:00-6:30 pm weekly. In the Summer we have an additional evening outdoor service around a camp fire.
Where do I park and enter?
You are welcome to park anywhere along the street. You can enter the front doors facing Gale Ave. Handicap spots are available on the street in front of the church.
What should I wear?
Come as you are. After all, Jesus was a fan of robes and sandals! But really, we want you to feel comfortable when joining us for worship.
What are your beliefs?
Zion Lutheran Church confesses the Christian Faith as reflected in the creeds and confessions of the Lutheran Church. We are a member congregation of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) and subscribe to its teaching.
What is your worship style?
At Zion Lutheran Church, you will experience a blended worship style with some traditional elements and other parts not so traditional. At worship, the Gospel of Jesus Christ is proclaimed through the reading of Scripture, the singing of music, lively preaching, and celebration of Holy Communion each week.
Can I take communion?
We practice" Open Communion" at Zion, which means all people are welcome at the table Jesus has prepared.
Are children welcome in worship?
Yes! Children are important members of our congregation at Zion Lutheran Church. Children of any age are welcome in our congregational worship services. Yes, they giggle, they poke, they squirm and swing their legs, because they are children and that is perfectly welcome here. We have removed pews in the back of the worship area and replaced them with creativity tables where kids can draw, color and look at books during the worship service.
If you have any further questions, please reach out to Pastor Joe Iverson at [email protected] or call the office at (608) 582-2818.
